Freshman Preview (Visual Arts)
ChiArts’ Freshman Preview is the first opportunity for freshman students to demonstrate what they have learned in their arts classes during the first semester. This is an exciting time for you to see how your student is progressing in their art form and witness the breadth of artistic talent at our school!
Dance, Music and Theatre perform Wednesday, 12/14 at 7pm, and the Visual Artists Exhibit Thursday, 12/22 at 5:30pm. And Admission is FREE!
Freshman students and families: Due to the availability and size of the auditorium, freshman students are limited to (3) three seats to the Wednesday performance. Seating reservations should be used for family, friends and guests of ChiArts students to attend the performance and not for the participating student. Priority seating for freshman students will be held until Friday, December 9th. On December 10th seats will be released to the general public— all seating is general admission.
Sophomore and junior students and families: General Public seats are available to sophomore and junior students and their families starting Saturday, December 10th. Each sophomore and junior student is limited to (2) two seats to the Wednesday performance. Seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach capacity.
Reserve your seats in person at ChiArts, 521 E. 35th Street or online at the link below. Reservations are not required for the visual arts exhibition.

Backstage Pass - VISUAL ARTS
AUDITION WORKSHOPS:
ChiArts Backstage Pass (formerly Audition Workshops) are open to any 8th-grade student who wishes to learn more about the audition process. Each session will give families a better understanding of the academic & artistic culture unique to ChiArts. While participation is recommended, students are not required to attend a workshop in order to audition or apply for admission to ChiArts.
Due to space restrictions, registration is required. All Backstage passes are FREE. There is no need to sign up for more than one time slot in a single arts area (Musical theatre students are to attend one of the Theatre sessions). Students are allowed to register for more than one arts area/conservatory. To register online simply fill out the form below, or send the requested information by email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or phone: 773-534-9710. A confirmation email will be sent once your request is received. Submit your information at least 7 days before the workshop date of your choice.
ChiArts does not offer shadow days.

Freshman Debut: Visual Arts
As part of the Freshman Debut, Visual Arts freshman get the chance to show what they've learned in their first few months at ChiArts. In an evening for students' friends and families, our scholar-artists will display first semester work and visit with guests.
Visual Arts Exhibit
The SpringHill Suites Downtown Chicago hotel is hosting an exhibit featuring some of ChiArts’ visual arts majors. Our students’ pieces will be displayed in the lobby area, and guests will be invited to meet the students and talk about their artwork.
